I always feel a certain sadness heading into August. The end of July is my mother’s birthday and end of August is when my sister took her life. I have it preconditioned in my body to be tense around this time. What if I take my own advice and reframed this month to turn pain into purpose? Remember how I was talking about helping everyone else glow up? It’s time I take the reigns and believe the best is coming with ease. You in?

Glow UP? You’re doing it wrong. WATCH THIS
Four Small Tools I’m Implementing in August
- Expecting Everyday Magic
Instead of the dreading what might never happen I’m expecting the most beautiful, serendipitous miracles showing up all the time with ease. Getting into a tough restaurant, finding my dream house, meeting a lovely stranger? It’s the tiny unseen bits that make life magical if you’re open to them.
- Being Fearless
I’m putting myself out there personally and professionally like September 1st I evaporate into thin air. The only way to survive August is to turn the pain into power by putting that pain to work.
- Dreaming without Limitation
I’ve always felt that “should” is a dirty word. I should want to live in one place, I should want to have kids, remarry. “The “Shoulds” are dream killers. The real flex is exploring what you want without limitation and releasing limiting beliefs. If you’ve ever struggled with family expectation and fitting into a box- this is for you!
- Focusing on Small Habits
I’m in a weekly accountability group, OWN IT, and this summer we all committed to doing 1 thing per day without fail. It first I was focused on a long day routine, but narrowed it down to my long daily walk and now I add in TBM, tapping. Doing these habits and showing up for myself builds confidence in all aspects of my life. One idea is getting dressed daily to curate your personal style.
Hope these inspire you in your pursuit of your dream life.
All Things,
Melissa
